A Message of Solidarity and Operational Clarity Regarding the Security Situation in Mexico

Over the past 48 hours, the news coming out of central and western Mexico regarding the security operations and resulting unrest in Jalisco has been heavy. As a cross-border logistics provider deeply connected to Mexico, we cannot simply look at these events as supply chain disruptions.

These are our peers, our fellow drivers, and our partners on the road who are navigating incredibly difficult and dangerous conditions.

At CTM, our thoughts and profound solidarity are with the transport companies, dispatchers, and especially the operators in states like Jalisco, Michoacán, and the wider Bajío region who are dealing with roadblocks and instability. The men and women behind the wheel are the backbone of the North American economy, and we have the utmost respect for their bravery and resilience during these challenging days.

While our hearts are with our colleagues further south, we also understand that headlines like these create immediate anxiety for U.S. shippers who rely on Mexican manufacturing. It is our responsibility to provide clear, ground-level truth to our clients.

Operational Clarity: The Arizona-Sonora Corridor Remains Secure

When international news simply reports "violence in Mexico", it is easy to forget the sheer size of the country. To put it in perspective, the events occurring in Jalisco are happening over 1,000 miles away from our primary operating region in Sonora, roughly the distance between New York and Florida.

We want to emphatically reassure our clients and partners that the Hermosillo to Nogales corridor is completely unaffected by the events in central Mexico.

  • Clear Routes: Highway 15 north to the border is clear, secure, and operating at normal capacity.
  • Border Efficiency: The Mariposa Port of Entry in Nogales is processing freight seamlessly and without interruption.
  • Business as Usual: Our manufacturing partners and facilities in Hermosillo are operating under normal conditions.

Because CTM operates an asset-based Hybrid Model, we do not rely on second-hand information or rumors from load boards. We are in direct, real-time communication with our drivers, our facilities, and local authorities in Sonora. We track every load from the dock in Mexico until it safely crosses into Arizona, ensuring complete visibility and security for your high-value freight.

Our commitment to our clients is unwavering, just as our respect for the Mexican transport community is deep. We will continue to monitor the national situation closely, but please rest assured that your supply chain through the Arizona-Sonora corridor remains secure.

If you have any specific concerns about your upcoming shipments, our team in Tucson is always available to speak with you directly.
